Biography
I was 17 when I began my apprenticeship and spent the next
nine years working for a small business in
Stirling.
I had a fantastic opportunity in that the company I worked
for was contracted to do a variety of different work in all
areas of the building trade (please refer to top of the page
for all areas that I serve) as well as an excellent joinery
apprenticeship.

In 2001 I left Scotland to go traveling around the
world and gained valuable work experience, learning
different work ethics which have been useful to me
since coming back home.
Brian Wilson Joinery was established in 2002 on my
return, after taking the advice of my old boss who
said that I was more than capable of making a go of
it myself, which I am very grateful for. Had it not
been for that good advice who knows if I would own
my own business now. |

Since starting up on my own I have been lucky to know a lot
of people from working in the trade and have an excellent
team of experienced architects and tradesmen and who work
alongside me. My tradesmen include my electrician, plumber,
brick layer, slater, and also plasterer.
When I found that business was going well and my customers
were spreading the word about satisfaction, I realized that
I couldn’t continue doing it on my own. In 2003 I took on
another joiner to help with the work load. The company has
continued to grow ever since.
